Troops Recover 147 Rustled Livestock, Motorcycles During Security Operation in Sokoto

 
Nigerian troops have recovered 147 livestock believed to have been stolen, along with several motorcycles, during a series of security operations in Sokoto State.

The recovery followed coordinated operations targeting suspected bandits and criminal hideouts in parts of the state. Military authorities said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to curb cattle rustling, banditry, and other criminal activities affecting communities in the North-West.

According to security officials, the recovered livestock included cattle, sheep, and goats suspected to have been rustled from local communities. The troops also seized motorcycles allegedly used by the suspects to carry out their operations and move through difficult terrain.

The military noted that efforts are underway to identify the rightful owners of the recovered animals, while investigations continue to track down those responsible for the theft.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining offensive operations against criminal elements and urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence to support security agencies in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property across Sokoto State.
