Digital Economy Boost: NCC Hands Over Digital Industrial Park, ICT Learning Centre to Enugu Government

 

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has strengthened efforts to accelerate Nigeria's digital transformation by leasing its Digital Industrial Park and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Learning Centre to the Enugu State Government.

The initiative is aimed at fostering innovation, promoting digital skills development, and creating opportunities for technology-driven entrepreneurship in the state. The facilities are expected to serve as hubs for digital training, innovation, research, and the incubation of tech startups.

Speaking during the handover, officials described the partnership as a strategic move to expand access to digital infrastructure and empower young people with relevant ICT skills needed to thrive in the digital economy.

The Enugu State Government welcomed the development, noting that the facilities would complement its ongoing investments in technology, innovation, and youth empowerment. The state pledged to ensure effective management of the centres to maximize their impact on economic growth, job creation, and digital inclusion.

The collaboration aligns with the Federal Government's vision of building a knowledge-driven economy by expanding digital infrastructure and equipping Nigerians with the skills required to compete in the global digital ecosystem.
