“What He Said Is Not True” – Al-Mustapha Rejects Ex-DSS Operative’s Claims on Abacha’s Death

Former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (retd.), has dismissed claims made by a former Department of State Services (DSS) operative regarding the circumstances surrounding Abacha’s death.

Reacting to the allegations, Al-Mustapha described the ex-DSS officer’s account as false and misleading, insisting that the claims do not reflect the true events surrounding the former military ruler’s demise.

Speaking on the matter, Al-Mustapha maintained that the former operative’s statements were inaccurate, stressing that the public should disregard what he called unfounded assertions.

He reiterated that those making claims about Abacha’s death should rely on verified facts rather than speculation, adding that attempts to distort historical events would not change the truth.

The comments come amid renewed public discussions over the death of General Sani Abacha, who died on June 8, 1998, while serving as Nigeria’s Head of State.
