Troops Rescue Five Relatives of Abducted Zamfara LG Chairman

Nigerian troops have successfully rescued five family members of an abducted local government chairman in Zamfara State during a security operation aimed at combating kidnapping and banditry.

The victims, who were reportedly held captive by suspected armed bandits, regained their freedom following a coordinated rescue mission by security forces. The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts and rescue kidnap victims across the state.

Security sources said the rescued family members were safely evacuated and are receiving necessary care, while efforts have been intensified to track down the abductors and secure the release of the local government chairman.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations against criminal groups, urging residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible intelligence to enhance the fight against insecurity.

The rescue marks another step in the ongoing campaign by security forces to curb kidnapping and restore peace in Zamfara and other parts of the North-West.
