The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Operations, DIG Ari Mohammed Ali, has decorated 13 newly promoted Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 17 Commissioners of Police (CPs) at a ceremony held at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The decoration ceremony followed the recent approval of the officers' promotions by the Police Service Commission (PSC), marking another milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within the Nigeria Police Force.
In his address, the IGP congratulated the newly promoted senior officers, describing their elevation as a recognition of their dedication, professionalism, and years of distinguished service to the nation. He urged them to see their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility and unwavering commitment to effective policing.
The police chief also charged the officers to uphold the core values of integrity, discipline, accountability, and respect for human rights while carrying out their duties. He emphasized the need for improved security strategies and stronger collaboration with communities in tackling crime across the country.
The event was attended by senior police officers, family members, friends, and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the newly promoted officers as they assumed their higher responsibilities within the Force.
