Benue Deserves Lasting Security, Not Repeated Condolences – Aondoakaa

 

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Michael Aondoakaa, has called for urgent and decisive measures to address the persistent insecurity in Benue State, insisting that residents deserve lasting protection rather than recurring messages of sympathy after violent attacks.

Aondoakaa said the continued loss of lives and displacement of communities underscore the need for a more proactive security strategy to safeguard lives and property across the state.

He urged the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to tackle the root causes of the violence, strengthen intelligence gathering, and ensure that those responsible for attacks are identified and brought to justice.

According to him, meaningful action to restore peace and protect vulnerable communities is more important than repeated expressions of condolence, stressing that the people of Benue deserve sustainable security and the opportunity to live without fear.
