Women Now Play Critical Role in Terrorists’ Logistics, Intelligence Operations – Security Expert

A security expert has warned that women are increasingly being recruited by terrorist groups to support logistics, intelligence gathering, and other operational activities, highlighting a shift in the tactics employed by extremist organizations.

According to the expert, terrorist networks are taking advantage of societal perceptions that often make women less likely to attract suspicion, enabling them to transport supplies, gather sensitive information, and facilitate communication among members.

The expert explained that beyond carrying out support roles, some women have become deeply involved in planning operations, recruiting new members, raising funds, and spreading extremist ideology within communities.

He stressed that the changing dynamics of terrorism require security agencies to adopt more inclusive and intelligence-driven strategies that recognize the evolving roles of women in extremist groups without unfairly profiling innocent citizens.

The security analyst also called for stronger community engagement, improved intelligence sharing, and targeted awareness campaigns aimed at preventing the radicalization and exploitation of women by terrorist organizations.

He urged government authorities, civil society groups, and local communities to work together in addressing the root causes of violent extremism while strengthening efforts to detect and disrupt terrorist support networks.
